Really nice and helpful staff here. You can leave your large bags with them for safekeeping if going on day hikes and activities.
Sandwiches at 75Kr and coffee at 40Kr. Cosy little place. Bread roll for the sandwich was great, all the grains and seeds on it smelled awesome.
A tiny town that serves as the gateway for fjord cruises and several nice hikes. Good for a day trip, or you can book a room here to overnight.
Beautiful place. You can learn about the old hydroelectric power station that was built here to power the building of the railway at Flåm Railway Museum.
The Flåm Railway is great in winter! Pay attention to the announcements on where the views are. We had almost the whole car to ourselves and could move freely for the best shots.
Great little compact place with a decent variety of animals. There are rather interesting 15-min shows running in the cinema downstairs every hourly. Free with Bergen Card in winter.
Start by wandering through the lower levels and finishing at Håkon’s Hall at the top. Guidebook gives interesting nuggets of info.
View of Bergen from the top is just breathtaking. Highly recommended to take this trip. Beware of slippery stairs in winter.
Great to explore the historic city centre on foot. Everything is walking distance from tourist info centre.
Bergen Card gets you free round trip tickets in winter. Great snowscape view on the climb up the funicular and not so crowded as well.
Came here for a quick bite before getting on the Fløibanen. Reasonably good, fresh, food and coffee. Nice to watch the world go by while sitting at the window.
Collect your Bergen Card from the airport information counter. It’s on the right of the exit from baggage belts. Free travel on Bergen Light Rail to the city centre with the Card.
Pretty good atmosphere in this place for taking a table by the corner for people-watching.
Interesting little museum with good exhibits from Norwegian artists. 80NOK per adult ticket. Free coffee and tea at the shop.
Small place but great burgers. Love the Super Mario themed menu! Bullet Bill tasted great with the flavours of the spices all coming through. Garlic mayo with onion rings were super too!
Really small but otherwise good to pop in and learn something if it’s snowing hard outside. Well-stocked souvenir shop.
It’s a labyrinth inside and rooms are tiny. Free coffee and tea downstairs at the lobby to bring up to your room if you’d like.
Good little wooden museum to spend a couple hours learning about life in the Arctic. Doors can be low so watch your head.
Food isn’t anything to shout about, but decor is nice and there’s a small kids play area for the young ones to keep entertained while parents eat.
Everything in town is in walking distance and people here are really friendly and kind! In winter we saw the Sami Festival with reindeer right in the middle of the street.
Small airport, clean toilets. The queue to clear security into the gates can get full to the point where the escalators are stopped.
Makes for a fairly decent stay and being located near a grocer’s and supermarket helps save costs.
Better than the maritime museum next door. Interesting and interactive exhibits and you get to explore the entire inside of the ships. Good for 2 hours here!
