Blame Amtrak for NJ Transit delays. They own the rails. They have the right of way.
Use the Acela Lounge if you have a first class ticket or Select Plus status. Much more civilized place to wait, especially if your train is delayed.
Ronkonkoma trains are usually 18 or 19 don't wait where everyone else does go in by police booth and get a better seat
I will kick you in the face if you kick my pull-along luggage. Just because you have to live in Jersey/never vacation doesn't mean you have the right to be a prick to travelers that need suitcases.

When in the bathroom stall stand in a paper bag the cops won't know two people are in a stall
This underground station with not a single spot with decent food or coffee is the worst. At least the re-vamp continues.
If you get the FREE red cap service you can go down to the train early. Plus they carry your luggage :)
Rosa's is good but Caruso's has the best pizza in Penn.
Throw elbows in the crowded areas, easier than saying excuse me 1000x.
Late night arrivals can expect escalators aren't running and the line for the elevator can get long
Great sushi options in the main concourse.
The chickpea restaurant is as healthy as it gets around here.

I've seen literal holes nicer than this metaphorical one.
Scout out an NJTransit ticketing machine early, because they seem to avoid you when you need a ticket most desperately.

Taking Amtrak? Expect everything but the Acela to be late or delayed.- Stand to the right, walk to the left on the escalators please!
Be wary of people wanting to give you rides to your destination
The Amtrak waiting area has free Wifi and electric outlets where the payphones used to be.
Be prepared for the commuter stampede everytime a track is called.
Although they should be, tickets on the LIRR are not sold by your weight.
Stand underneath an air conditioning vent to avoid the funk of sweaty folks passing you by.
If you are taking the Acela you don't have to wait upstairs. Go down and look at the monitors on the lower level.
Avoid the over priced fast food in the station and grab a gyro or hot dog from a street cart just outside.

Buy beer on the platforms its way cheaper. 2 16oz buds for 4.50$ awesome
If it's a beautiful day outside, expect delays on NJ Transit.
Penn is kind of nice after you've had a few Duvells.

The ac is blazing near 8th avenue in the lirr section about ten feet from the track listing monitor.
