The area seems a bit iffy to me, but before Herrera’s in Dallas this is my favorite hole-in-the-wall Tex-Mex-Joint.

Gloria's in Colleyville doesn't have salsa night any more. You have to go to the other sites for all that.
Not really a fan of their food to be honest with you. It's average. But too many of their margaritas will knock you on your arse. Secret ingredient. Everclear! Don't say I didn't warn you.
Brisket tacos are to die for yum! Plus they are super nice and make you feel welcome :)

Casa Navarro has a strong following in Dallas, and the owner can be seen greeting customers as they arrive. The usual Tex-Mex is served here, and the prices are low for food and drinks. Leia mais.

The sketchy neighborhood adds to the authenticity, and so does the fried pork rind taco (chicharrón). Fajita is their most flavorful meat though. Opens at 3PM and stays open past 2AM on weekends.
A lot of calories I hear per item, but they are some of the best quick Tex-mex calories I've scarfed down.. (downed like some fasting Tijuana hound dog).
It beats Uncle Julio's for fajitas which ain't bad.. right across the street (Cross St Douglas).
