- go to the international terminal (gate 1-5) to enjoy a quieter experience. The Peet’s coffee located there is better and you have more food choices than the main terminal
- DoubleTree by Hilton ManagerSetembro 22, 2011Long flight? Peanuts are okay, but bringing a filling, healthy snack like almonds or fruit will keep you tied over until your destination. For more travel tips and fun, follow @DoubleTree on Twitter!
- Theresa Quezada SalazarJunho 25, 2013Free refills on your black/green iced tea at Peet's. Next to gate #40. Makes the price a little easier to handle. Tasty too.
- TerrySetembro 3, 2014Way more room on southwest flights than united flights, also more pleasant staff.
- Houston’s smaller airport. Easy to navigate and great food options.
- Melissa MayerDezembro 15, 2010Fried alligator appetizer at Pappadeux: not to shabby! It's sit down so be sure you have some time. They keep tabs on time for you, as some airport restaurants do
- Derrick WilliamsJunho 3, 2013Very tech friendly airport as I don't have to wonder from gate to gate looking for an available outlet.
- Brandon LeinenbachNovembro 5, 2014I love this airport, it's so much easier than IAH. The easiest way to get out of Houston!!
- Main southwest hub in Houston, great restaurants.
- Jennifer ChangJunho 1, 2011Take advantage of the Priority line (if you have it w/ an airline). It's not on the sign, but Delta's Silver Medallion counts & got me through security in 10 minutes
- Love flying out of Hobby. It's much more calm than IAH, and the Southwest staff is always so friendly & helpful
- Though the airport is thumbs down in neatness, handling security lines is good especially for frequent travelers.
- As airports go Hobby is a breeze. It's small and friendly with decent food options and mercifully short security lines!
- Belinda RickmanSetembro 14, 2014Be sure to check your boarding pass. If it says TSA PRE you can skip the long security lines. Go start thru security without taking shoes off and the line is really short.
- Annie SalazarDezembro 17, 2011Park on the top level of the garage. There's plenty of wider spaces & less chance of getting your vehicle dinged
- Security line gets busy for those Sunday 5-730 flights, so keep that in mind when planning your day
- BluEyed GurlJulho 11, 2014Papas Burgers near gate 45.....bring a friend! these burgers are 'da bomb & HUGE!
- DoubleTree by HiltonSetembro 27, 2011Keeping liquids in checked baggage is always your best bet, but if you aren’t checking luggage, predetermine how much liquid security allows and plan ahead to avoid losing your favorite shampoo!
- This is the easiest airport in the world. Short lines, lots of food options. Love it.
- SJ SimonDezembro 11, 2018The valet parking is a great option and the folks there provide excellent service.
- Don't use the drop off section of the airport. You have to carry your bags downstairs. Just go to the arrival part & go right to baggage check in
- Good craft beer to go down by gate 20. left hand nitro stout and real ale devils backbone
- The men's restroom in baggage claim is clean and better than the other restroom since the traffic is less
- Great dining choices, but I have it on good authority the ice tea at the Baskin Robbins / Dunkin' Donuts is horrible.
- Joel ReedJaneiro 20, 2015Not a bad airport. They have a Peet's Coffee in lieu of Starbucks. A couple of Pappa-eateries.
- If you are picking up someone, tell them to meet you outside all the way down. (Across from the taxi stand). Less congestion.
- Good news and bad news. Good news is jet blue is here!! Bad news their bag check in does not open until 8:30 or 8:45. Super weird when everyone else is open.
- sugardaddie.comNovembro 29, 2013If you fly SouthWest you are probably coming through here. No free wifi and the security line may look daunting but all in a pretty decent airport to come through.
- Despite holiday eve travel, Rental car return, shuttle and TSA all went smoothly!
- Seriously people! What part of take everything out of your pockets, do you not understand? I know taking the belt, and shoes off can be hard to understand...
- Pappasitos is a great Tex-Mex place for a snack.
- After you pass thru TSA, look up at the original neon sign that was once the exterior of the airport. Love that they maintain the history!
- Formerly an airport for model airplane hobbyists, the line, "everything's bigger in Texas" became law and all the toy airplanes became real airplanes, however, the name Hobby stuck
- Steven MartinezNovembro 13, 2011Security line a Hell, get there early to aviod the line. Go to the bar and enjoy a drink or two before the flight
- Please save the chairs with Power Outlets those who need the hard-to-find electricity.
- Ann GlennMarço 9, 2013There are giant spider webs in the ceiling here that i am convinced hold a giant spider the kind seen in #syfy movies.
- UrbanyouseeFevereiro 25, 2013If you fly Southwest, you can use your mobile device to track flight status during the flight; but you will need to pay $8 to use the wifi.
- You won't get lost, it's a very nice airport with friendly staff. Try to enjoy the weather while you're here!
- Hobby is not like Austin Bergstrom. To check bags in to Southwest Airlines you need to do it before 45mins of departure. In Austin it is 30mins. Otherwise your bag will be marked "Late Checkin".
