Originally built in 1835, John Layton, the first postmaster of Laytonsville, inherited this house in 1847. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

This train station was originally built in 1873 by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. Station was moved in 1981 from the original site to current location to make room for the Rockville Metro Station.
