Not much to it, but easy to get around and fairly quick and painless with TSA-Pre.
The terminal construction has many of the food spots closed so unless you want California Pizza Kitchen bring your own food.

Use Torrey pines town car to get to airport. Best car service around. They treat you like royalty.

Walked past security for southwest. Wow don't fly south west out of San Diego. That line is crazy! Almost Sunday afternoon Vegas crazy.

Pretty and clean but bags always take forever to arrive. They also often tell you the wrong carousel number.
Erica OtaSetembro 4, 2013For being such a big city...this airport sure is small. Maybe its just Terminal 1. And the food choices are VERY limited, unless you like sandwiches. Seems thats what Terminal 1 only carries.

Love Alaska Air, but their terminal here isn't my fave. Super small, not much to do while you wait for your flight.
You can do mobile checking here! Check in at home and just use your smart phone as your boarding pass!
Ok people...you're limited to one (1) carry-on and one (1) personal item. And once on the plane put your coat under your seat. Leave the overhead bins for other passengers' bags.
This place is nice and calm compare to other airports. To bad there are no Starbucks in all terminals only one✈
I enjoy the pat downs. Truly some of the best on the west coast!
If flying Southwest, get your boarding pass first, then get in the Express Bag Drop-off line. Both those lines are short.
Love San Diego, but it is simply one of the worst airports in America - bring your patience with you.
If you are flying out of gates 1 or 2, it's a separate security check (even if you're just connecting). Very limited food selection in gate areas. Needs a serious update to facilities.
If you're flying Southwest or Frontier don't plan on finding a place to drink post security.
The free airport Wi-Fi is limited to 30 minutes through Boingo. That's not a compliment.
Zeqing LiMarço 29, 2014Transfer in San Diego Airport is painful. You need to go out of security and wait for a small shuttle bus to transfer you to other terminal.
Check in for Continental at United (for domestic flights at least; I'm not sure about international). Yeah, that's confusing.

The food courts are closed due to endless construction. If you pass a food stop you like, take it.
Steven IMaio 10, 2023The security lines in Terminal 2 are a mess, confusing and inefficient. Made more confusing with Clear trying to sell their services. I have not seen a TSA Pre line this long in a while.
