Reasonably cheap food in union square is like stumbling upon a unicorn, so enjoy it, loud yes authentic probably not but good yes and reasonably priced I totally enjoy republic for what it is

The warm sake comes in two sizes, the large is great to share with a friend or two, especially on a cold day.

Slow service. Inconsistent quality on cocktails. Seats are hard wood blocks with no backs for support. Curry vegetable dish is mild, vegetarian, and outstanding, but it's not enough to bring me back.

Nothing like dining with huge b/w photos of pretty ppl draped in noodles! Mini dumplings & grilled beef dish really good. My friends love the Pad Thai. Reasonably priced esp. for being on Union Square

Coconut curry chicken broth noodles are still a winner, now many years later with an emphasis on curry over coconut. Piquant.

Pad Thai is delicious. But tried the calamari, curry duck and coconut chicken based on foursquare tips and they weren't good- just salty or bland.

Bland-ish, over-cooked noodles. Decor reminiscent of Midwestern chains. Convenient location of you need a quick meal around Union Square though!

Great food, but the interior of the restaurant is so loud and noisy that I can only stand to eat at the tables outside. If you can't get a table outside, find somewhere else to dine.

As a refined fat piggy I must say the soup dumplings are subject par no real soup in the dumpling more like a bowl filled with flavored soy sauce as a soup and boiled dumplings dropped in....

Sit infront of the kitchen, it's interesting to look what they do. If they have a special for foursquare they grant it. Service is perfect and price is fair.

The lime chicken broth noodles are really tasty. The potions are huge! You can find noodles for less money, but not terribly expensive for the area.

Absolutely amazing coconut lemonade! And the cassava cake is yummy!! Stay away from the Thai iced teas!

I recommend the salmon with rice vermicelli and coconut milk. Delicious! Also, do NOT come here for a romantic meal of any kind.
