I walk by two coffee shops to get here each morning. Why? Wonderful, personal and friendly service, great prices in a clean and inviting environment. Long live Penny House!
They recently added organic, spiced oatmeal to the menu and it's incredible! They've done it perfectly :)
YisselJulho 15, 2012The staff is very sweet. I just wish the smoothies were too. Ordered a strawberry, banana with soy. It's bland. I'm not in love with it. You may not be either. Will try the iced chai next time.

Good bagels. The scallion cream cheese is very scallion-y! Really nice counter staff.
the owner is the hardest working guy I've seen, and also the nicest. I go out of my way for their coffee - it's always good.- Great bagels, delicious coffee all from super nice guys. Great way to start the day!

Lentil soup is so good! One of the best soups on Washington Avenue!- Grab a La Colombe Iced Coffee & delish Veggie Burger
- Penny house serves up a great La Colombe on Washington!
- They have a hangover helper! 3 shots of espresso in a large coffee.
- Creamy Hot Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice Latte, or Peppermint mochas- ALL GOOD!
- The only place I know of that has tofutti for bagels.
