Tara and Karina: The fried chicken looks dark enough to call ‘burnt,’ but don’t be fooled—it's the best in town! Get the side of butter beans and a cornbread muffin. Check out our post: http://bit.ly/zebbjA
TKGO: People rave about the pulled pork (which warrants its praise!) but the unsung hero is the melt-in-your-mouth ribs. You may even see Kermit Ruffins stop by before a show at Vaughan's.
Tara and Karina: Local legend Kermit Ruffins plays Thursday nights. Show starts at 8/8:30pm but I recommend coming at 11pm just before the second set, when the (free) red beans & rice are served and the crowd thins.

Tara and Karina: The fried oyster po boy ($13) is HEAVEN and a small is big enough. Don't skimp on the dressings! (Check out our blog post: http://bit.ly/zvj12B)

Tara and Karina: Live music (in the back room) and cheap beer never fails to please! And no matter the time of day, the bartender serves a mean bloody mary.

Tara and Karina: The brunch buffet is the best in town. You better set a full two hours out for this one—no matter what I tell you is delicious (seafood jambalaya, bananas foster), you're going to try it all yourself.
Tara and Karina: Mixing the rum-only options will give you a slightly weaker drink. Try the combinations on the wall, or mix your own! The large is a little over $6. Thank you NOLA for your open-container policy!
