- Gary TorielloDezembro 27, 2014Chongqing Chicken Wings - explosive chili, xinjiang spices, and crispy beef tripe. "Sichuan peppercorns provide vibrating, tingling, & numbing sensations."
- Village VoiceNovembro 26, 2012Incorporates regional Chinese, Japanese and American elements along with balls-to-the-wall spiciness in a semi-subterranean premise. Critics' choice for winner of Best of NYC, Best Chinese (Hipster)!
- Village VoiceJulho 2, 2012Catfish a la Sichuan, a recent menu addition, packs a prodigious peppercorn wallop. The menu has changed in the two months since Mission's doors opened, so make sure to grab this before it disappears.
- EaterJulho 10, 2013Right now, the menu is full of "greatest hit" dishes like the Kung Pao pastrami and the salt cod fried rice, as well as brand new Bowien creations. [Eater 38 Member]
- Michelle WilesDezembro 23, 2016Mapo tofu is delicious. Beware if you get it spicy, it's actually quite spicy
- JDezembro 27, 2012The free beer while you wait is awesome. The buckwheat noodles and kung pow pastrami are great. A lot of the dishes are over-the-top salty (and I love salty food). Avoid the long beans and pickles.
- Ray LinJaneiro 20, 2015The spicy? You CAN'T HANDLE THE SPICY! Must-order items are the fried chicken appetizer, and any entree repertoire here needs the Kung Pow pastrami and salt cod fried rice.
- Chris CAgosto 28, 2012I don't wait an hour and a half for food but this is worth it! Screw the free beer, go to Top Hops three blocks down orchard. Had the married couples beef, cumin lamb and thrice cooked bacon, amazing!
- Kevin LiJunho 29, 2012Authentic meets hip. Go with a bunch of ppl so you can order bunch of things. The salt cod rice, the monk fish liver sashimi, the rice cakes, mapo tofu were all solid. Line gets crazy so go early.
- Joe JunterealFevereiro 10, 2013Extremely spicy, but so good. Worth the wait, but you def need to pace yourself unless you're used to spicy schezwan food. Such a change from spicy Thai I had at Little Serow in DC yesterday.
- Stacey HerronJaneiro 3, 2013Tons of things are vegetarian or can be made vegetarian & none of it feels compromised or like an afterthought. I loved: Braised Pea Greens & Mongolian Long Beans. Great flavors, super satisfying.
- jiresellAgosto 30, 2015Really unique! My favorite dishes are the lamb ribs, pizza and beef jerky fried rice. Go with a large group and share as many plates as you can!
- Lisa WFevereiro 20, 2013Lives up to the hype. Crazy hot and flavorful chicken wings. Salt cod fried rice was best I've ever had. The seasoning is perfect, drinks are great too. Twin Peaks bathroom is perfect as well.
- Amanda RayeAgosto 5, 2013Go with a group of people, the large dishes are served family style. Avoid the line and go for lunch...the menu is the same. Oh, and get the thrice cooked bacon + salt cod fried rice!
- Bradley KayFevereiro 19, 2017Spice and salt bombs all night, you'll roll away bloated and happy. Phil Khallinz cocktail is one of the finest things I have ever tasted in my life.
- Order the chicken wings with a Phil Khallins to cool your mouth. Tip: the lime juice will temper the spice
- Sorry for the wait but you'll enjoy the drinks and if you're looking for spicy, you'll get spicy. Also, very cool interior.
- Charlie HellmanMarço 24, 2013Carrot pickles are a refreshing starter. Bacon is tasty. Egg egg noodles are a nice staple against so many strong flavors. Favorite dish was the scallop sashimi. Tofu is hard to handle.
- Jess MaryJaneiro 10, 2013Don't come hungry or you'll be too hunger-raged out to enjoy. Have a small snack before you come. People rightfully rave about the spicy food, but the egg egg noodles and eggplant are outstanding also
- Ashley SpechtOutubro 2, 2017Good for large groups; pre-fixe menu is a little pricey and might have to do the regular menu if the situation were to be repeated. Phil Khalinns was a great and quirky drink.
- Danyel SmithMaio 1, 2015don't sleep on the cumin lamb riblets! + fried chix entree. + the spicy peanut noodles w cuke n mint. strong cocktails also. go early—or go late. #crowded
- Amy ChinJulho 31, 2012chongqing chicken wings r outstanding - sift thru the pile of chili peppers 4 crispy beef tripe nuggets! Other 'don't miss' dishes: Cumin lamb w/charred dates, salt cod fried rice, pig ear terrine
- A FDezembro 29, 2014The new, improved, and (much) larger Mission Chinese made a huge leap forward with the addition of one of the city's best -- and most thrillingly outside-the-box -- cocktail programs.
- Alex TsuMaio 23, 2017If you were coming here expecting authentic food, you're in for a surprise. Mission perfects a unique cuisine by introducing bits of Western food into standard Chinese dishes. Kung pao pastrami
- LukeFevereiro 24, 2017The green tea noodles are truly special, but (real talk) the menu as a whole can be unpredictable. Go with a group so you can try more stuff
- Paula VillanuevaJunho 14, 2015Best Chinese food ever! Get the kung pao pastrami, celery, spicy peanut noodles and wash it down with soba tea 👌🏼🙌🏼 A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
- Vincent ChuMaio 13, 2016The cumin lamb chops were good. Nice beer selection. Jerky fried rice good too. I didn't pull the trigger on the $75 chicken (forgot the name) but it's $75.
- Trae FJunho 5, 2017Loved the lobster and coconut fried rice. The Kung pao pastrami is good and SPICY! Something tells me Quentin Tarantino would dig this place
- Sahm AdrangiJulho 20, 2013Best "chinese" in the city. I'd skip the pastrami, but rest was incredible: mapo tofu, catfish, wings, bacon. Get xo noodles
- Remington GuestDezembro 3, 2012Found the wings to be over rated. Pok poks are way better. Make sure to get some less spicy dishes too. Thrice cooked bacon is a must. Egg noodles were great, as were the 2 cocktails I had.
- Luiz Gabriel CamargoFevereiro 12, 2016SpicyPeanutNoodle & KungPaoPastrami. Way over salted and seasoned. Tasted and felt like Ramen noodles w 8 spice packets. Drinks were good (bartender had anattitude), spring rolls very good.
- Zoë E.Março 12, 2016Picky eaters, beware! The food is very unique and they don't allow substitutions! Some dishes can be made vegetarian if you ask, though.
- pastrami; very delicious, communal tables are annoying, chicken wings very spicy but dry, lamb delicious but on the bone so not very classy, knowledgeable waitstaff, overall winner is cucumber salad
- Remington GuestDezembro 28, 2012Make sure to leave after you put your name down. It's a long wait. Order the thrice cooked bacon, buckwheat noodles, and peagreens (soup). The cocktails are great too.
- Angela HuAbril 13, 2013If the Twin Peaks theme song doesn't make you feel relaxed while you use the W/C, then you're doing it wrong. Oh PS: three-times fried bacon w/ azn rice cakes = Sublime.
- as much as i miss the grunge of the old location, i appreciate the classy new digs. and the twin peaks themed bathroom hallway is very well done.
- Sandor WeiszAbril 29, 2013Thrice Cooked Bacon is as brilliant and as spicy as everyone says, but the spice is expertly added. I never found myself reaching for the rice to dull any pain. It's just plain f'in good.
- AnissaMaio 22, 2015Seating is odd here so go before 6:30pm to avoid a wait! Must eat: beef tartare, scallops with yuzu, chicken wings (warning, EXTREME mala!)
- Adam BardDezembro 23, 2014The food's going to come whenever it's cooked, so ignore the menu calling dishes appetizers, and hope they don't bring the rice first, or forget to order it for a few minutes, then remember.
- LauraFevereiro 4, 2013get there early or email ahead of time for reservations.i tried the pork jowl, thrice cooked bacon and cod fried rice, all were great. the wings were too spicy.
- Richard BarberSetembro 16, 2016The best kind of spicy. The wings are 🔥🔥. Also get the thrice cooked bacon it's a must
- A bit on the salty side but the flavored are pretty awesome. Loved the pig ears, thrice cooked bacon rice cake, salt cod fried rice and a iced cold beer.
- Gabe RoseMarço 31, 2013Get the thrice cooked bacon, bbq pig tails, kung pao pastrami, and broccoli brisket, proceed to drink 13 glasses of water to put out the fire in your mouth.
- K@rTh!kk ReDd!Junho 1, 2013Spicy on the Menu is Spicy!!! If u'r in a mood for some authentic Chinese food, this is the place to go. Worth the try, even when the wait is long...
- Rupert NoffsAbril 2, 2013Votes Restaurant of The Year! Delicious food and cocktails. Intimate (like...how's ya father?) and awesome Twin Peaks restroom. Try not to get emotional whilst peeing. I dare you.
- Chloe ZhaoFevereiro 16, 2016Chicken wing, beef jerky fried rice, kungpao pastrami are all so good. Nice vibe. Playful decor. One of my fav restaurants in New York.
- Tim de GierSetembro 22, 2012The owner wrote about his food for McSweeneys. Count on long queue's, but it's worth it. Great food. Twin Peaks themed toilets. And they serve free beer while you're waiting.
