Bialys — a flat round roll with onions chopped up in the center — are a NY tradition. Kossar’s is the ultimate place to score some. The shop opened in 1936, and still uses the same original recipe. Leia mais

Bialys are great but the babka....OMG. Do not leave without one of these babies. Seriously. Do yourself a favor and get both. (They freeze well too 😉)

If you're going down the bagel route, go for "the classic" and get it on a plain bagel, since it comes with everything cream cheese.

You can't go wrong with a bialy—a pillowy round thing that looks a little bit like a bagel but will SURPRISE YOU when you bite into it and are overcome by the taste of onion. Leia mais

On the weekends, be sure to press the handle and take a number - they'll call them out and flash on a sign just like at Russ & Daughters. During the week, no numbers necessary, just line up.

Best Bialys! Back in the day there use to be a movie theatre there!! You could have a bialy then a movie! Back then it was Gus Pickles and the famous Bialys place...still stands today!

Even in the late afternoon, there were plenty of bagels and bialys and drinks to choose from... any of the bialys are well worth the trip!!!

The garlic bialys aren't bad, the onion bialys are great, and the bagels are enough to make a man weep with joy that malty bagels survived the catastrophe of the 20th century.

Onion disc (traditionally called pletzel) is the BEST item. Perfect chewy texture & the right amount of onion/poppy seeds. Come on SATURDAY NIGHT until about 2:00 am, for everything HOT out of oven
