You can see most of the adjacent Soak n Sail and splash pad from the line, so send one adult into this horrible (but shady) line while everyone else plays.
Contrary to what the carnies say, the back of the ride doesn't move faster. However, you do move over the apex of the first hill faster than the front, since the front hasn't accelerated yet.
As the most exciting ride in the park, lots of older kids (7+) queue up at 9:59 AM to run straight here. Do it early!
Competitive parents: make the ride more fun by trying to beat the carnies high score. 1500 points will get you in the ballpark, but some of them can top 3000. Good luck.
Feed the kids imagination by telling them to spot fires, bad guys, etc while they are up high. Make it fun!
DON'T be one of those parents that screams driving directions at their kid the whole time. Serious. Just let them pretend to drive!
There is only one entrance and exit, so grab some apple fries on the way in, pull up some shady concrete, and let the kids have some free play.
