Terminal 3 is such a great difference vs the old terminal. As with any flight, arriving a couple of hours before, will get you in in no time. With a minutes to spare for shopping or a cup of joe :-)
On February 16, 2021, the Clark County Commission voted unanimously to rename McCarran Airport to Harry Reid International Airport. An official renaming ceremony will take place by the end of summer.
Free WiFi. Also, play the slots in the terminal if you need to get your fix before you hit the casinos (or need one last chance to win some money before you catch your flight out of Vegas).
You can actually find the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign in light-up smaller form inside the airport. It is located just by the international arrivals area, just behind the butterfly airplane.
Choose to opt-out of the full body scan if you want but be careful when it's busy. Need a ride? Use lyft code: LYFTPHOU and get up to $20 in free ride credits. #lyft
Main commercial airport for the las Vegas Valley and Clark County. Five miles south of downtown Las Vegas. Four runways and two terminals, Beautiful and very organizedairport.
Clean and lives up to all expectations with slot machines and plenty of Frank Sinatra.Give yourself some time when checking out. You need to take a tram. TSA here are bizarrely friendly!
The Coffee Beanery in Terminal C is worth stopping. Generally good coffee and through many layovers here I've found the people who work there to always be pleasant and helpful.
Slot machines welcome you as you get of the plane. Centrally located, very close to Strip. Free shuttles available to/from many hotels. Free wi-fi all in the airport. Expect delays in busy seasons.
Excellent Airport & TSA Check-in!!! Very helpful, fast + take you to front of line if disabled w/o having to ask for assistance. Spotted my cane and presto magic I was whisked away thru security. TY!
Disabled Veterans get free long term parking. Take your parking ticket and DON’T pay at the pay machines. Call attendant at the gate and tell them you are a disabled vet Get free parking.
Huge airport, very different from the others, it has slot machines and smoker rooms inside. Also people in customs are usually more relaxed and friendly
Best airport wi-fi HANDS DOWN. Great way to kill time before your flight. Also, get here early, especially if you're flying Southwest (hub) or any airline in Concourse D (except United and Hawaiian)
If you are choosing an airport lounge opt for club at LAS lounge opposite gate E2 free hot lunch/drinks all complimentary / showers vs united lounge at gate D free vinegar wine & cheese biscuits
Rather than taking a cab, take SuperShuttle! I paid $8 from The Flamingo to the airportn one-way! A cab should only be $20 max (with tip) and make sure they don't take the freeway. Enjoy Vegas :)
Free wifi with a decent connection. And for the frequent flyers and travel hackers, there are also a few different lounges here to experience. (Centurion, Lounge Club, etc.)
Un aeropuerto cómodo donde rápidamente te puedes alienar a las particularidades de la ciudad, máquinas de casino, muchas tiendas y variables opciones en la feria de comida.
If you're flying out of JetBlue's terminal three, it's much less crowded than the main terminal so you don't need to get here as early. Plus if you have TSApre you'll be through in less than 5 mins.
McCarran offers you that last chance to hit it big with a life changing win! How? By placing slot machines quite conveniently throughout departure hall.
Tons of slot machines if you enjoy that, which means they have tons of power running through the facility but hardly no power available for you to charge your stuff.
My home away from home. Curb side check in is quickest and easiest if being dropped off. On the inside grab the c gates from the upper level for shorter lines.
Use Uber / Lyft from Terminal 1, rather than have the hassle of ‘no tunnel’ with one of the regular cabs. Follow the Rideshare signs to Level 2M, in the parkinggarage - opposite the terminal building
If you fly into a D Gate and don't check luggage, take the Terminal 3 tram to baggage claim and walk straight out door 54 to beat the rest of your flight to the inevitably long cab line :)
You should stay at the Elara Hilton hotel. It's attached to Miracle Shops, which is right on the Las Vegas strip! I stayed there for over 2 weeks & loved it!
Here’s your last chance to win big. The airport’s new terminal 3 is complete with 1.9 million square feet—many of which are dedicated to slot machinesLeia mais
Taking a cab is the best mode of transportation. I took the advice of someone in the airport not to take the freeway and it still cost me $30 to get to the Wynn plus I sat in traffic for over 20 min.
Hands down best airport in the US. Easy to get through and parking is a breeze. Park in short term at baggage claim level for easy coming and going when picking family and friends.
A high stakes flyer bet the farm and lost when he wound up DOA in the Delta lounge! I solved this Sin City slaying when I fingered his killer, a down-on-her luck showgirl who got a raw deal.
Get your last (or first) minute gamble on. Variety of quick service food options, but if you see something you like, stop. There are limited full service options. Southwest check in can get backed up
The airport has improved drastically since I've been last. Line ups for check in & security are shorter. Free wifi and charging stations. Food options are still the pits though
When taking a taxi, Check Google Maps for the shortest route and let your driver know. They're required to follow your direction, and you can save as much as $10 on fare.
When arriving, if taking a cab, always tell the cabbie NOT to take the freeway. You will save your first $20 of your trip. If that $20 is a winner, you can thank me later.
If waiting for a friend to pick you up in a cab, and her cab driver suggests to wait at The Front of the cab line, ignore the advice. The McCarran cops yell at you to move, but Jim S. might save you!
If flying in/out at night, be sure to keep an eye out for the strip when you're in the air. The view is breathtaking. If only we were allowed to use cameras that close to the ground.
Curbside check in is managed by an outside company. If your bags get lost, it's on you (airline can't/won't help). Tip well to ensure your bags make it home. Amazing how many people don't tip!
On your way back home, if you are flying out of Terminal D and have at least a couple of hours to kill, I highly recommend the Centurion Lounge, worth the 50 bucks.
