Christophe Jammet: Finally, a proper mixology gastropub in the UES. While close to the 2nd ave douchebars, it seems to be a haven for what passes for a hipster on the UES. The fried oyster sliders are great.

Christophe Jammet: If you still go to D'Agostino's or Gristedes, you have no idea what you're doing. Also: Watch out for the insane Upper east side old ladies.

Christophe Jammet: My favorite Mexican spot in the city. Great food, drinks, and atmosphere. If you go to Blockheads instead of here, you're probably a mouth-breather.

Christophe Jammet: My favorite sushi spot in NYC, let alone the UES. The omakase will run you at least $100 per person, but it's worth it. Sign on wall reads: "No california roll, no spicy tuna. Trust me." Trust them.

Christophe Jammet: Don't buy fish anywhere else. Dorian is a sweetheart and the fish is super-fresh
