    That circle does not accurately mark where the shooting happened and has moved locations over the years. The shooting actually happened about fifty feet in front of the marker when facing east.

    Site where an angry mob of colonists provoked British soldiers guarding the state house to shot & kill 5 of the mob. Adams & Quincy defended the accused soldiers in court, acquitting 7 of 9.

    It's eerie to stand there. We took the National Parks Service tour and it was great. The costumed tours tell you the folk legends. The NPS tells you the facts. Their guides have history backgrounds.
