The best Japanese bakery in New York City, Takahachi also has good sandwiches. Their Gimme! Coffee gets the job done but nothing special.

Nik MoreMaio 6, 2017Pastries look great, but taste far from perfect. Truffle cake is quite dry, while matcha which is a kind of specialty here doesn't really fit creme brulee or pancakes. If you're not Japanese,of course- The Melon Pan is a new favorite of my son. Whereas I will chomp down their perfect red bean buns any day of the week. Matcha green tea cookies are to die for.

The black sesame and matcha macarons are delicious. Buy them if they are still available because they sell out often!
Some of the freshest, most delicious food near City Hall. Try the homemade tofu or tuna tataki salads, Midori juice and one of the unusual macarons - like goma or matcha.
Delightful and cosy. Love this Japanese bakery/cafe. Chef special meals are tasty too! Sandwiches and treats you won't tire of. FRESH. Will keep coming!

Tuna Tataki Salad is impossibly fresh and light and perfect for stupid hot days. Highlight is the aggressively sassy wasabi dressing.

kurogoma (black sesame) lattes are delicious... as well as most of their pastries / cookies / cakes!
Lots of green tea and sesame desserts! I love their home made bread. I love the sesame loaf!
