The Great Mosque is worth the trip and represents a serene oasis from the market around it.

The total length is about 14 km. Walking the whole circle around the city will take you about 3 hours. Do it and look down on both sides to see what's going on in the city and in the City Wall Parks.
Watch ourself crossing the road to get to it. RMB40 to enter and rent a bike for another RMB40 for 100 minutes (RMB200 deposit). Cycling at a reasonable pace, 1 was to complete the wall in time.
You get pretty dizzy by the time you reach the 5th floor but the view is spectacular! Especially the fountain.

This is a great museum and it's free! On weekends you have long queues and there are a few scam artists on the outside plaza, so be careful. There is the occasional touring show.
