Oldest bar in Boston. Try to snag a window seat to people watch. Live music on the weekends upstairs.
It helps to make up your mind before getting served since it's really crowded. You can lose anyway.

Smallish bar with a lively afterwork crowd. Great before a show at the Orpheum. The only place in Boston where you can have a Sam Adams across from his grave.

Decent beer prices and open almost all@of the time including during any bad weather. They have keno here too if that is your bag
Favorite Portland restaurant. Great local feel. Get the "naked" lobster roll. Opens at noon.
Huge lobster roll. They also have a HUGE lobster you can eat....if you can afford it. Decent beer selection, but order at the bar if you can, it gets busy!
