Nuruosmaniye basically means the light of Osman. It was designed in Baroque style during an era of increased Western influence in architecture with one of the biggest domes amongst Ottoman structures
Recently re-opened, Meşher basically means exhibition space in Ottoman Turkish. It is free of charge, they have amazing exhibits and great guides. The gallery is directed by Bahattin Öztuncay.
A tiny and hidden shoe store in Beyoğlu which does not even have a sign on the facade. They make really good quality replicas plus custom made shoes. The prices and the quality is excellent
It is a bookstore and cafe in one. The book selection is limited yet very arts oriented. Their deserts are out of this world - without a doubt their red velvet cake is one of the finest in Istanbul

It is quite a pleasant gated community on the Asian side of Istanbul - so easy to reach from the motorway (both TEM & D-100). Well kept, community outdoor pool area. Some flats have a great sea view
Love the outside seating area in the summer. It is basically a Turkish kebab house with a good selection of tapas. I really like the lamb chops. Prices are fair, staff quite friendly. Valet parking.
They make incredible pide with a meat topping (essentiqlly Turkish pizza) and tahini bread for dessert - no other alternative . Price is TL 20 per person incl drinks. Area is slighty lower income.

Simply exquisite inside and out. Definitely attend an evening at the opera. There is a dress code and people really make an effort to look elegant. They put a red carpet just before performances
